Entering program error messages

To reach this option, the user should select option 6 from the main menu. This option is used to maintain the error messages for the given routine. Normally it would be accessed by using the INVERT key at the MSG NO prompts in option 5. However, for the purposes of the tutorial we shall enter the error message through this option.

Only 1 error message is required and that is for the routine EXAMPLE. Make sure you are processing this routine, i.e. EXAMPLE is displayed against item name at the top of the screen. For MESSAGE NUMBER enter 1. The appropriate error message is entered in the next field. The error message in this routine will be displayed if the user enters a value greater than 25 for the discount percentage. So an appropriate message would be.

A discount percentage greater than 25% not permitted
