Within a window it is possible to insert a new set of associated values. This set of associated values is referred to as a 'line'. The value at the start of each 'line' acts as a key to the rest of the 'line'. If a value is inserted for the first value then a null value is inserted for each associated value. To insert a value for the first field, hit the INSERT function key. A null value is inserted for each field in the association. The following lines will be shuffled down to fill the window and the user can then enter a value for the first field.
The default for this parameter is that line insertion will be permitted. The user can override this by entering a 'N' for this field. It should be noted that if insertion is to be allowed then a deletion facility should be provided.
The insertion is a straight forward insertion of nulls. Should the user wish to carry out some form of processing in the insertion then an insert item should be included to augment the standard insertion facility.
