For each field within a window, a set of values will be maintained. In some cases each value entered within a field must be unique. For instance, should one want to enter the regions covered by a salesman, it would not make sense to enter the same region twice for the same salesman. To ensure this does not happen, a DUPLICATE CHECK facility is available. The default is that this facility is not enabled. However, should the user wish to make use of this facility then a 'Y' should be entered for this field. If no value is entered, it is assumed that the user does not wish to exclude duplicate values.
If this facility is enabled and the user enters a value for a field that has already been entered for that field, the error message 'Duplicates not allowed' is displayed and the user is reprompted for a unique and valid value for that field.
