Paradyme V4.0 - Manual

Program characteristics

Include default effects

From version 4.0 of PARADYME, the user has the ability to assign screen effects to each individual prompt defined in option 5. However, there may be a large number of prompts and assigning an effect to each one can be time consuming. For this reason, PARADYME can assign default effects to the prompts. The user can the override these effects if they so wish.

These effects are automatically assigned should the user press [RETURN] to this field or they enter 'Y'. Three effects are assigned. These are ICOL, DCOL and VCOL. ICOL is used for a data item that is either on the main buffer record or is INPUT. DCOL is user for those prompts that DISPLAY data off a cross-referenced record. VCOL is used for any variables defined in the routine.

For details of how these effects are setup, refer to Chapter 2, Installation.
