Paradyme V4.0 - Manual

File layout definition

File Reference

For this field enter a reference that will uniquely identify the following file layout definition. This reference can be a maximum of 4 characters. The first character must be alphabetic. The remaining 3 can be anything. However, it is advised that some sort of convention be used for the allocation of these references. For instance, if one had 3 files in a system, references of F1, F2 and F3 would be good practice. These references will be used through out PARADYME to identify the files that are to be used by the generated program.

If the user does not know the reference of a particular file or those references that have already been allocated in a particular group of files then by hitting the INVERT key the user will be asked for a part of the full file name or part of the file reference. All those files that contain these values as part of the file name or reference will be displayed on the screen.
