Paradyme V4.0 - Manual

Starting a PARADYME session

Version

In a development / support environment, there may be a requirement to support multiple versions of the same routine. These versions may be for different clients who want the same routine to do different things . Alternatively, the user could be enhancing a given routine and wishes to retain previous versions of the routine for reference purposes. This entry is used to identify the different versions. For instance they could put in "6.1" to denote that the user is working on version 6.1 of the routine.

Note that this field is only used to distinguish between the different PARADYME versions. The user MUST specify a different file name for each version. This is because PARADYME will place any generated routine in the file specified in the following field with the name specified in the preceeding field. Thus different versions will be overwritten. Note that the last routine / file combination "CATALOGED" in an account will be the active routine with the given program name.

Under normal circumstances, this field will be left blank.
